Which format should I choose?
MP4 · H.264 — A practical starting point for sharing across apps and devices.
MP4 · H.265 (HEVC) — Can retain detail at lower bitrates, but needs compatible encoding hardware and playback software.
WebM · VP9 / VP8 — Useful for web video, with Opus audio when sound is included. WebM is a container, not a codec.
Before you start
Available formats depend on your browser and device. Decoding and encoding are checked before conversion. This version accepts one SDR video track and at most one audio track. HDR, subtitles and multi-track video are not supported. Unsupported audio is reported rather than silently removed.
Limits: 200 MiB, 10 minutes, up to 4K input; up to 1080p / 30 fps output. Mobile devices may need more time or run out of memory. Chosen quality and resolution do not guarantee a smaller file.
