PromptPay QR FAQ

What is a PromptPay QR and how does it work?

It is an EMVCo text payload defined by the Bank of Thailand. It holds the PromptPay application ID (A000000677010111), the payee ID, the Thai baht currency code and a CRC16 checksum. When a customer scans it with a banking app, the app fills in the payee and amount and the customer confirms the transfer.

Which IDs can I use to receive money?

Three kinds: a 10-digit mobile number (for example 0812345678), a 13-digit national ID or tax ID, and a 15-digit e-Wallet ID. This tool checks the national ID check digit and the mobile number format before it creates a QR.

How is a QR with an amount different from a normal one?

Without an amount you get a static QR: customers type the amount themselves, so one printout works forever. With an amount you get a dynamic QR that pre-fills the amount, which suits a single bill or invoice. You need a new QR whenever the amount changes.

Is my PromptPay ID sent anywhere?

No. The QR is created in your browser. The ID, amount, shop name and account name are not uploaded, sent to a server or included in analytics. Note that the QR itself contains the ID, so anyone who gets the image can read it.

Does a scanned QR mean the customer has paid?

No. The QR only tells the banking app where to send money. A scan or a screenshot is not proof of payment, so always confirm the deposit in your account or bank notification. iToolers is not connected to any bank and cannot verify payments.

How do I use the A6 and A5 stand cards?

Enter the shop name and account name, then download the A6 card (small counter stand) or the A5 card (larger sign). Each card has a QR Payment header, the shop name, the QR, the amount if fixed and a scan-to-pay caption. Print at 100% actual size and test-scan the printout.

Why is there no PromptPay or Thai QR Payment logo?

Those logos are trademarks with their own usage terms, so this tool does not embed the official artwork and uses plain text in neutral colors instead. If your business is licensed to use them, place the downloaded SVG in your own design.
