Net salary FAQ

How much social security is deducted each month?

An employee insured under section 33 pays 5% of wages, counted on at least 1,650 baht and at most the wage ceiling. From 2026 (BE 2569) the ceiling is 17,500 baht, so the most is 875 baht a month (20,000 from 2029 and 23,000 from 2032). 50 satang and up rounds up to a baht. The employer pays the same again.

How is withholding tax on salary worked out?

The employer projects the year: monthly pay × 12, minus the 50% expense deduction (at most 100,000 baht), minus allowances, then the progressive 0-35% rates. The year’s tax divided by 12 is withheld each month and filed on PND 1. This calculator uses the same method.

Up to what salary is no tax withheld?

With only a salary, the 60,000 personal allowance and social security, the first 150,000 baht of net income is tax-free; roughly, a salary up to about 26,000 baht a month has no tax withheld. Enter your figures to see the exact result.

How is a bonus taxed?

The bonus is added to the year’s income; the extra tax it causes is withheld in the month the bonus is paid, shown separately here. Social security is counted on the monthly wage only.

Which allowances can I enter?

Spouse with no income 60,000; 30,000 per child (another 30,000 for the second child onward born 2018 or later); 30,000 per supported parent, up to 4; provident fund up to 15% of wages; and a box for other deductions such as life insurance, home loan interest or funds, which you work out under the Revenue Department’s conditions.
